The New Student Checklist is program specific and contains required tasks, deadlines, events, links, and contact information to guide you as you transition into the Online MBA program. Please review this checklist carefully, as it is meant to serve as a one-stop-shop for your program onboarding.

Note: Non-standard courses have different dates than standard semesters and terms for the Schedule Adjustment Period and Drop Period. Students are responsible for checking the corresponding Non-Standard Course Dates & Deadlines for exact Schedule Adjustment dates.

Academic Standards and Grading System
BUSO700 Fundamentals of Business (also known as Opening Residency) is a two-credit course that will take place on August 15 and 16, 2026 in person at Van Munching Hall on the College Park campus. Students must attend both days in order to receive credit. BUSO700 is a required part of the MBA curriculum.
Registration for BUSO700 will open in late May. More information will be shared in the coming months.
Please be sure to also save the date for OMBA Campus Day on Friday, August 14. This event will take place on the College Park campus. OMBA Campus Day is an opportunity for you to connect with faculty, staff, and fellow students in a welcoming and engaging environment. The afternoon and evening program includes faculty and curriculum introductions, meetings with student services teams, and opportunities for networking and socialization with classmates. This event offers valuable insights into academic resources and student support services while helping you build connections with your peers and the broader campus community.
The Office of Career Services provides students with direct access to job opportunities, corporate presentations, and a variety of career management resources. The OCS team is here for one reason -– to help you secure a new foothold in the business world from which you can create the value you strive to create in the world. Additional information and summer pre-work will be posted in June.
The Online MBA program is 54 credits.
