The primary mode of communication within the Smith community is email. Main sources of email you will receive include the following:
Masters Programs Office (MPO):
MPO emails will include important information about the academic program, including registration instructions and deadlines, graduation instructions and deadlines, financial aid reminders, and schedule changes. Regularly scheduled emails from MPO will also include information about MPO-sponsored events such as community meals, feedback meals, roundtables, day trips, training opportunities, and annual events.
Office of Career Services (OCS):
OCS emails that contain information related to career programs and services primarily come through the HireSmith platform based on student preferences from their HireSmith settings.
Smith Announcements:
Smith Announcements include information and opportunities from outside of MPO and OCS. These may include social activities, speaker announcements, and other general items of interest to MBA and Business Master's students.
MBA and Business Master's Program Student Associations:
Student Associations -- such as the MBA Association (MBAA), the Flex Part-Time MBA Association (PTMBAA), or the Smith Master Student Association (SMSA) -- announce a variety of events they sponsor or support (e.g., case competitions and speaker events) and extracurricular ones (e.g., sporting events and happy hours.
Graduate School and Campus Affiliates:
University of Maryland Graduate Students may also receive emails sent to all graduate students from campus affiliates such as the Graduate School, the Department of Transportation (parking and traffic notices) and Graduate Student Services.
