Registration Instructions

Registration Notes

  • Your Directory ID and password must be set BEFORE you can register; see Directions for Setting Up Directory ID and Password.
  • In-person attendance dates for Opening Residency occur before the start of Term A on Saturday & Sunday, August 15 & 16, 2026 in Van Munching Hall on the College Park campus. Completion of Opening Residency through the BUSO700 Fundamentals of Business course is required to graduate.
  • Both Online and Flex MBA students register for BUSO700 Fundamentals of Business.
  • Registration is conducted via Testudo's Registration (Drop/Add) feature.
  • To secure your preferred seats in fall courses, please register as soon as possible.
  • The Fall 2026 semester totals 10 required credits.

The last day to register for BUSO700 is Monday, August 10, 2026 by 10 a.m. ET.

Registration Steps

  1. Go to Testudo.
  2. Select Registration (Drop/Add).
  3. Enter your [Directory ID] and [password] in the Central Authentication Service (CAS) login screen and click Log In.
  4. Select Term: Fall 2026.
  5. Enter the Fundamentals of Business (Opening Residency) course information:
    • Course Number: BUSO700
    • Section Number: SO91
    • Grading Method: Select Satisfactory/Fail from the drop-down menu
    • Credits: leave blank
  6. Follow the same steps as outlined in Step 5 above, entering your preferred section numbers and a Grading Method of Regular for the following Core Courses:
    • BUSO600
    • BUSO603
    • BUSO604
    • BUSO612
  7. Click Submit Changes. A message may appear stating that the course is non-standard; click Enter to bypass this message.
    • Note: All courses in the Smith MBA program are non-standard as defined by the University.
  8. Click View Schedule to confirm courses.

  • Courses are completed in 7-week sessions referred to as terms. Term A meets August through October and Term B meets October through December.
