Campus Night and Opening Residency

Campus Night will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building's Washington, DC campus. The meeting date is Tuesday, August 22 and timing will be finalized this summer and is usually held from 6 - 8 p.m. The purpose of the evening is to provide students an opportunity to network and get to meet one's cohort mates prior to the start of Residency. Students will have a chance to meet their campus manager and academic advior and learn about academic policies and available campus resources. All students are strongly encouraged to attend Campus Night.

  • This two-credit course will take place on Saturday and Sunday, August 19-20, 2023 at Van Munching Hall at the College Park campus. Students are expected to have completed their BUSI 600 Pre-Work prior to attending Opening Residency in order to successfully participate in academic sessions. 
    • Students will receive arrival details and other important information in late July to early August 2023.  
    • Students can expect an 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. each day during this weekend. A final schedule will be posted in the BUSI 600 course ELMS-Canvas site in early August 2023. 
  • Students must attend both days and complete the Pre-Work in order to receive credit for BUSI 600. BUSI 600 is a part of the MBA curriculum.
    • How to Access Pre-Work: Upon registering, allow 24 hours to pass before accessing ELMS-Canvas (see more information under Technology). The ELMS-Canvas course site for BUSI 600 should populate under your courses. 
      • Any questions about Pre-Work should be addressed via ELMS-Canvas with Professor Mary Beth Furst directly. 
  • If you are unable to attend the in-person meeting dates for BUSI 600, please notify Justin as students who do not complete BUSI 600 in August 2023 will be expected to complete this course in January 2024 (the next time this course is offered).

Please Note: Summer Metro Green Line Construction: Service on the Metro’s Green Line from the College Park Metro Station will shut down July 22 to September 4 as part of a large summer maintenance plan. This will affect stations Fort Totten, West Hyattsville, Hyattsville Crossing Metro Station, College Park - U of MD, and Greenbelt. During this time, Metro will have shuttle buses available between the stations. Please check https://www.wmata.com(link is external) for all updates regarding this change.
