All August, December, and May graduates will be celebrated together at commencement ceremonies held each May. All students who completed or will complete their degree in August 2025, December 2025, or May 2026 will receive communication from the Masters Programs Office team about the May 2026 commencement ceremonies beginning in Spring 2026.

Campus-Wide Commencement Ceremony
Date: May 20, 2026. Exact Time TBD and date subject to change.
Information about the University of Maryland campus-wide commencement ceremony: https://commencement.umd.edu/. During the campus-wide ceremony, students will not have their name read and will not walk across the stage.
Diplomas
Degrees will be posted to student records 4-6 weeks after the end of the semester in which they complete degree requirements.
Diplomas are mailed approximately 6 weeks after degrees appear on student transcripts. However, diplomas will not be sent if a student has an outstanding financial obligation to the University (parking tickets, overdue books, or unpaid tuition bills). Student diplomas will be mailed to the permanent address listed in the University system. For permanent address changes, students should update their address through the Registrar.

Questions about diplomas not received 12 weeks following the semester’s completion, or to change the diploma mailing address can be directed to the Diploma Office at 301-314-8270 or diploma@umd.edu.
