This two-course sequence presents the central concepts and analytic methods of corporate finance. Students will learn about the structure of financial markets, the techniques and language of finance, and the various responsibilities of the corporate financial manager. Topics include:
• Time value of money
• Valuation of corporate securities, including stocks and bonds
• Financial techniques for evaluating corporate investments
• Portfolio mechanics and the relationship between risk and return
• Capital structure and its implications for firm and project valuation
• Valuation of financial options
