This course covers the basic techniques for computer simulation modeling and analysis of discrete-event systems. Course emphasis is on using simulation to capture the key aspects of complex systems to gain insight into their behavior and to support decision making, especially in an uncertain environment. We will cover theoretical basics and will do hands-on exercises in simulation software. A basic understanding of probability, statistics, and decision analytics is recommended. Prior exposure to computer programming is beneficial, but not required.
