Meaning. Purpose. Impact.  These currencies are increasingly becoming just as important to working professionals as salary and compensation packages.  At the same time, our economy has been experiencing a revolution - entrepreneurial activity is at its highest level in years, freelance jobs have skyrocketed, the average tenure at a job is 4.2 years, and the average worker is expected to experience up to 7 career changes. Gone are the days of waiting for a gold watch.  However, few are equipped to handle this kind of disruption in our careers.  Enter Design Thinking.  How can the same methodology used at companies like Apple and Google to innovate new products be applied to our careers? This course will introduce the design thinking process and utilize it as a framework for long-term career development and management.  Given the nature of the topic, the course will be highly participatory requiring participants to collaborate closely with their peers, as well as deeply reflective requiring various exercises and "homework" assignments.  While our focus will be on social impact, this approach has wide applicability including on career transitions in general and broad conceptualizations of impact.
