Business Communications in Entrepreneurship
Credits
2

This practical course is designed primarily to improve the student’s ability to effectively communicate with investors and potential investors, employees, and prospective customers.

The advantages and disadvantages of the sources of new capital are studied from the entrepreneur’s viewpoint. Core topics include public speaking skills, non verbal communication, proper presentation design and formatting for investors, general business formation issues, and an overview of financing methods available to emerging businesses.

While entrepreneurial challenges and skills will be addressed in this course, these topics will be examined from the viewpoint of their effect on the communication required to navigate them. The course will include multiple opportunities for students to present to the full class as well as smaller groups.
