BUAC 601

Foundations of Managerial Accounting for MSA Students
Credits
2

This course satisfies one of the pre-requisites for students entering the MS in Accounting program and is designed for those students who have not taken introductory accounting courses as part of their undergraduate studies. The course examines managerial decision making as it relates to both the internal organization of a firm's activities and the firm's relationship with its external environment. The focus will be on how managers prepare and use financial and non-financial data to facilitate the success of the enterprise. While the primary focus of the course will be on commercial organizations, both manufacturing and service firms, most of the issues we address are also relevant in non-profit bodies, including those of government.
