Financial Accounting is appropriately described as the “language of business”, and is generally a required course in most business programs. The present course will provide students with a conceptual understanding of financial accounting, and familiarity with the basic financial statements. After completing the course, students will be expected to have the skills to understand and analyze accounting information as a strategic tool for decision making.
This course has been tailored to the Online MS in Business Analytics program. In addition to traditional financial accounting topics, students will develop an analytical mindset by applying analytics to accounting questions. Students will be required to complete data analysis assignments using appropriate data analytic techniques (such as Excel, Tableau and Power BI). These assignments will need to be completed on an online platform of McGraw-Hill Connect.
