Registration & Pre-Skills

Registration Instructions (coming in June)
Registration takes place in mid-June. First year students have a pre-determined set of courses to take in the first semester. These core courses build the foundation for the remainder of the curriculum in the Smith MBA program.

Pre-Skills Requirements (coming in June)
To assist with the transition back to school, "pre-skills" coursework is required for select core courses. The pre-skills courses share a common objective, to equip students with basic quantitative concepts, so that courses can be conducted at a "higher level," that is, focusing on managerial implications instead of quantitative details. Students prior familiatity with topics covered in the pre-skills courses is crucial in developing mastery in the core subject area. Performance in each pre-skills course will contribute in part to a student's grade in the corresponding core course.

Books
Students typically order books and coursepacks in August, prior to the start of courses. Once registered for courses, a Canvas site will be available. This site will list any required textbooks on the syllabus. Students can also locate their books at the University Book Center (UBC) in Stamp Student Union. The UBC allows students to pre-order books based on course schedule. More information regarding purchasing textbooks will be available during the registration period.
