Fall 2016 Registration

Registration Information

Registration is conducted via Testudo at http://www.testudo.umd.edu/dropadd/index.html. Students with any questions and/or who need assistance should contact their campus advisor.

Thursday, March 24th at 12:30pm

Registration Instructions

If you choose to take any approved Finance Electives this Fall, you will need to register for those courses individually following the example below. Courses with sections 0501, 0502 0r 0503 are MFin sections and you should be able to register freely on Testudo for them. All other sections are MBA sections, which require a course request; see "MBA Finance Elective or Off-Track Courses" section below.

Register for MFin courses as follows:
- Course number:
 Enter the course number (for example, BUFN 760)
- Section number: 
Enter the section number (for example, 0501)
- Grade Type:
 Choose "REG" from the pull-down menu
- Credits:
 Enter the number of credits (for example, 2)
- Click: Enter
- Note: You will receive a message stating the course is non-standard. You must click Enter again to bypass this message.
Once you have finished adding all your courses, click Sign Off.

Registration Notes

The Fall 2016 schedule is subject to change.

MBA Finance Elective or Off-Track Courses: MFin students will not be permitted to register for MBA Finance electives or off-track courses when Fall registration opens. MBA Finance electives are BUFN-coded courses with sections that are NOT 0501, 0502, or 0503. MFin students are not permitted to take any DC06 section courses. To request an MBA Finance Elective or Off-Track Course, Master of Finance students should submit a course request by completing this form: http://go.umd.edu/fall2016. Course requests for Term A and Term B must be submitted by August 1, 2016. Course requests submitted after August 1, 2016 will not be considered. Course requests for both Term A and Tem B will be reviewed two weeks prior to the start of Term A.

Independent Study Courses: MFin students interested in participating in an Independent Study course for either Term A or Term B should meet with their campus advisor to discuss the process and paperwork at least one month prior to the start of Term A. All paperwork for Independent Study courses in either Term A or Term B must be submitted with all signatures by August 1, 2016. Independent Study requests submitted without the necessary signatures or after August 1, 2016 will not be considered.
