Fall 2019 Registration Appointments & Blocks

All MBA and Specialty Master's programs register on Tuesday, March 26th at 12:30pm.

  • Go to Testudo
  • Select Appointment and Registration Status
  • Enter Directory ID and Password

If a student's correct appointment time is not listed by March 15th they should contact their campus advisor. It is the student's responsibility to review their appointment prior to this date as there is limited time in which to make appointment adjustments. Students with no appointment who fail to notify the Masters Programs Office will not be able to register before Wednesday, March 27. The Masters Programs Office staff does not hold any class space for students with incorrect or no appointments. All students should check their appointment and registration status for accuracy.

Courses become available to graduate students outside of the Smith School two weeks prior to each semester. If a student is unable to register for required courses prior to this date, they need to contact their campus advisor or their seat may be forfeited.

All students should check their registration status for accuracy by completing the following steps:

  • Visit Testudo
  • Select "Appointment and Registration Status"
  • Sign in with Directory ID and Password

The Masters Programs Office does not have access to view blocks and does not have the authority to remove blocks placed on your record by other University offices. Students are responsible for checking their account for blocks and clearing blocks prior to the start of registration. MPO cannot hold class space for students who experience blocks.

Each course has a restriction. Typically, these restrictions are a combination of credit limits and degree programs.

When a restriction is encountered, the system will state: "you have not met course selection restrictions." If a student encounters this message, they should first verify that they are allowed to take the course. If a student determines that they are eligible, they should get in touch with their campus advisor. If a student receives a message stating the course is non-standard,  they should hit enter to bypass the message (most MBA and Specialty Masters courses are non-standard).

Some common problems that are encountered during registration involve blocks that are placed on a student's record. The Office of Student Financial Services and Cashiering, Graduate School, International Student and Scholar Services, the Health Center, and other university departments can activate these blocks. Problems may include: missing transcripts, immunization records that have not cleared, overdue bills, parking violations, etc. It is the student's responsibility to be sure that records are complete and up to date. The most common block for first year students occurring during the Fall registration process is from the Health Center. We recommend that any first year student who has not cleared their immunization records, should call the University Health Center at 301-314-8180 to get this resolved.

If any issues occur the day of registration, students should contact their campus advisor.  If students receive an error message during registration that identifies contacting another office such as The Graduate School or the University Health Center, they should contact that office directly.
