5/24 - Weekly Email From the Masters Programs Office

Dear Incoming Student:

On behalf of the Robert H. Smith School of Business, I am excited to welcome you to the University of Maryland and am pleased that you have selected the Smith MBA program. The Smith School community takes pride in its world class faculty, nationally recognized programs, state-of-the-art facilities, and dedicated administration and staff. We continue to be at the forefront of business education as we prepare our students to become leaders.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as I will be working closely with you throughout your academic career. My name is Komal Dilawari and I am the Program Coordinator and your primary point of contact for the College Park MBA program from this point forward. I am also part of the Masters Programs Office, and our goal is to make sure someone is always available to assist you throughout your program.

Beginning with this welcome, you can expect an email every Wednesday from the Masters Programs Office with new details to help guide your transition to the Smith School of Business. Every student is provided with a Robert H. Smith School gmail account and moving forward, all communication from the Smith School of Business will now be sent to your "Smoogle" account instead of your personal email account. In order to access Smoogle, you will need to follow the steps outlined in the attachment. You will find a copy of this email in your Smoogle account today when you log in.

If you haven't yet, please visit the Incoming Student Website, which has detailed information to help answer questions you might have. The website will continue to be updated throughout the summer with information regarding course registration, orientation, important dates and more. Next week's email will direct you to a Pre-Program Checklist created for your specific MBA program with important tasks, deadlines, and contact information.

Please mark your calendars for several important dates:

May 31: Course Registration & Pre-Skills Registration opens
(instructions provided in the May 31 weekly email)
August 11: Graduate Assistantship Workshop - All Students awarded a Graduate Assistantship
August 11 & 12: Smith International Student Orientation - International Students

Please do not hesitate to contact me via email or by phone with any questions you might have. I am typically in the office Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and will respond to your message as promptly as possible. However, I will be out of the office from Thursday, May 25th until Wednesday, May 31st. If you need immediate assistance, please contact Caroline Lukich at clukich@rhsmith.umd.edu.

I look forward to working with you and getting to know you during your time here at Smith.

Kind Regards,
