7/27 - Weekly Email From the Masters Programs Office
 |
Dear incoming Master of Science in Information Systems student,
Orientation is quickly approaching and I look forward to meeting you in person!
Parking/Transportation
- I suggest you view the Transportation webinar and other resources on the Transportation page before arriving to College Park to get an overview of the University’s shuttle service, local public transportation options, including Metrorail, and details for students who plan to drive to campus.
- As stated in the College Park Parking Permit Information, the deadline for purchasing a College Park parking permit that includes Orientation parking permission is Friday, August 5, 2016. If you do not apply for a parking permit by then, you may have to pay to park during Orientation.
- The UMD Graduate Student Government (GSG) offers a free shuttle service to transport students from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to the campus and surrounding locations on seven different dates in August. For additional information, or to register for this service, please visit http://ter.ps/shuttle16.
Public Safety
The University of Maryland Police Department offers important services to students that you can familiarize yourself with on their web site, including a 24 hour escort service. All students are strongly encouraged to subscribe to the University’s urgent notification system, UMD Alerts.
Important Tasks and Dates Please review the Pre-Program Checklist for important tasks dates and note that the following start date is approaching:
I will be out of the office until August 8th. In my absence, please send any questions you have to mpo-cpmsb-informationsystems@rhsmith.umd.edu; e-mails sent to that address will be monitored by Amy Swann and you will receive a response from her.
