Intermediate Data Science with R Workshop

The Masters Programs Office (MPO) and the Smith Master Student Association (SMSA) have partnered to offer an online Intermediate Data Science with R Workshop led by Smith School alumni Ravi Pandey.

Zoom login information will be sent to registered attendees via email from SMSA the evening prior to the workshop.

This workshop is subject to cancellation due to low registration.

Expected Learning Outcomes:

• Understand how to read, clean, and manipulate multiple types of data.
• Understand methods of visualization using R.
• Build a data project using R.

Prerequisite & Preparation:

• This class is offered online, and requires a computer and a strong internet connection.
• Windows users will need Microsoft Windows 8/10.
• MAC users will need Mac OS 10+.
• Participants should have a basic understanding of R, including an ability to write their own function.

Content will include:

• Data Extraction/Ingestion
• Data Manipulation with DPLYR
• Data Visualization with GGPLOT
• Building Linear Regression Model
• Data Communication with R Markdown
