To prepare you for the start of your core course, BUSM604, Managerial Economics and Public Policy, Professor Sampson has identified required specific pre-skills through a math boot camp.

Students will be added to the Canvas course via email. To receive an invitation to the Canvas course, please ensure that your Directory ID is set up and check your [DirectoryID@umd.edu] email account to accept the invitation.

Welcome to the Robert H. Smith School of Business!
It is our pleasure to introduce ourselves as your 2022 Full-time MBA Orientation Committee. Orientation at the Robert H. Smith School of Business is unique in that the entire experience is orchestrated and run by students. Composed of several second-year volunteers, the Orientation Committee has been working for months to create an engaging and welcoming experience for every member of the Class of 2024. We promise your orientation and welcome into the Robert H. Smith community will be one you will remember for a lifetime.
Your decision to pursue an MBA proves you have the courage and drive to become a part of the next wave of exceptional global business leaders. By the time you graduate, you will have the tools and skills necessary to navigate the ever-changing landscapes of the business world and to make a viable difference wherever you go.
The decision to pursue an MBA is a bold move, and we understand that many of you might be experiencing anxiety regarding the unknown. Fortunately, your Orientation Committee is here to help. We have designed an experience that will build confidence and excitement leading up to your first day of class, as well as introduce you to your peers throughout the entirety of orientation. Consisting of a variety of activities, presentations, and workshops, your orientation will introduce you to the wide range of resources and opportunities available to you that will help you succeed during your time here at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Orientation is only the beginning of your journey. The next two years will be a unique and memorable opportunity in which you will learn from, and grow alongside, incredible people from around the world. Our Committee's goal is to provide you with the support and information that will set you up for success and feel welcomed into the Robert H. Smith community from day one.
