Financial Information 

The Financial Information page on the Admitted Student Website now includes 2023 - 2024 tuition & fees, billing due dates, and instructions for how to pay your bill. Student bills will be generated mid July, and payment is due by August 20. 

Financial Aid

Students who secure federal loans are required to complete the FAFSA Form each academic year. Please complete the FAFSA Form by Friday, July 14 to ensure processing prior to the start of the fall semester. Once processed, FAFSA loans are available for review and acceptance at the UMD Financial Aid Portal. Loans are typically dispersed 10-14 days prior to the beginning of the semester.

Billing/Financial Aid Questions 

Finance and bill payment questions can be directed to the UMD Office of Student Financial Services and Cashiering staff at billtalk@umd.edu. The Masters Programs Office team has staff who are available to assist students with questions about tuition and billing, and they are available at smithfinancials@umd.edu. 

UMD Immunization Requirement

All full time master’s students are required to submit an immunization form to the UMD Health Center. Please submit your Immunization Record Form to the University Health Center by August 2; questions about this can be directed to the University Health Center staff at health@umd.edu. 

UMD Mandatory Health Insurance Requirement

All students are required to have health insurance coverage. Students are automatically enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) upon registering for classes and the premium fee will be billed to the student’s account. Students who already have health insurance coverage may complete a waiver by September 30 to avoid paying for SHIP.
