BUSI600 Opening Residency

The purpose of the Campus Night is to provide students an opportunity to network and meet one's cohort mates at their home campus. Students will also have a chance to meet their campus manager/academic advisor and learn about academic policies and available campus resources. All students are strongly encouraged to attend Campus Night.

Tuesday, January 16 - Baltimore Campus, Time: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, January 17 - Washington, DC Campus, Time: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, January 18 - Rockville Campus, Time: 5:30 - 8:00 p.m

  • This two-credit course will take place on Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14, 2024 at Van Munching Hall at the College Park campus. Students are expected to have completed their Prework prior to attending Opening Residency in order to successfully participate in academic sessions. 
    • Students will receive arrival details and other important information in mid-December 2023 to early January 2024.  
    • Students can expect to be in-person from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each day during this weekend. A final schedule will be posted in the BUSI600 course ELMS-Canvas site in early January 2024. 
  • Students must attend both days and complete the MBA Prework in order to receive credit for BUSI600. BUSI600 is a part of the MBA curriculum.

It is recommended that any travel related purchases required to attend BUSI600 be refundable should inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent an in-person Opening Residency event January 13 - 14, 2024. The weather in the DMV area is difficult to predict but the Masters Programs Office team and Online Student Support Specialists will monitor all weather forecasts as closely as possible. All notices regarding BUSI600 will be sent to all students via their UMD email address. Every effort will be made to revert to a virtual event due to inclement weather by EOD Monday, January 8.
