Social and Community Activities at Smith and Around Campus
As a Smith masters student, you will have the opportunity to participate in many social and community activities. The Smith Master Student Association (SMSA) is the primary student club that is governed by masters students, with a focus on building connections among students. Ellen Liu, a current Master of Science in Information Systems student, currently serves as President and leads the SMSA team. SMSA will host several social activities during orientation; if you wish to attend, please RSVP for those at http://goo.gl/forms/4XCE9qZriI (you must be logged into your Smoogle account) if you haven’t done so already. Master of Finance students will also benefit from activities hosted by the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA). The club activities are shaped by the interests of current students, and you’ll hear directly from SMSA and SCMA club leaders during orientation. The Masters Program Office also hosts activities for students throughout the year and you’ll hear more about those during orientation as well. Students are encouraged to become involved with the full range of activities offered on campus. The Stamp Student Union provides an inviting place for students to gather, and resources specifically for graduate students. The following links can provide you with some opportunities to become involved at the University of Maryland:

Please review the Pre-Program Checklist and the Incoming Student Website for upcoming deadlines, important dates, and action items to be completed prior to your arrival.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions.
