This week we would like to introduce
you to frequently asked finance questions. As always, please remember to visit
Networth to access the Pre-Program Checklist to stay on top of weekly task items.

 

Frequently Asked Finance Questions:  

 

When do I
complete FAFSA?

·       Students are required to complete the
FAFSA each academic year to receive federal aid.

·       FAFSA loans are available for review and
acceptance on
Testudo

·       Loans are disbursed typically 10-14 days
prior to the beginning of the semester

 

What is the
expected cost breakdown for an MBA student?

·       Take a look here for a breakdown for tuition and fees, books, and personal
expenses/transportation for the 2015-2016 year.

 

When are bills generated?

 

Fall Bills

·       Bills are generated in mid-July for any existing
registration with payment due on August 20th


Spring Bills

·       Bills are generated in mid-December for any existing
registration with payment due on January 20th

 

Winter and Summer Bills

·       Bills are generated upon registration with payment
due upon registration

 

Where do I go to make
tuition payments? 

·       Visit the Office
of Bursar
to make tuition payments

Where
can I view my bill online?

·      
Go to Testudo

Click on: Student Account Inquiry and Bill
Payment

Log-in using your Directory ID and password

·       Payment can be made by Credit Card, Debit Card (2.0%
processing fee) e-check, check, wire transfer or cash.

·       Sponsored students may use 3rd party

Who do I contact for an
itemized bill for my employer?

·       An itemized bill can be requested by emailing the
Bursar directly at billtalk@umd.edu

Join your fellow Smith
Community for a scenic luxury cruise around DC from 8:00-11:00PM
on Friday August 21st. Boarding begins at 7:30pm, boat departs at 8:00pm. Open

excellent opportunity to Network with Fellow Smith students in a casual

Community Service Event

Please join us for a day of
community service cleaning up and helping prepare one of DC’s Public Schools
for the 2015-2016 school year. This volunteer opportunity is open to all
incoming students, to serve as a way to get to know each other and network
while serving the DC community.  
For those interested in participating in this event, please be sure to leave early to attend the mandatory campus day that will begin at 2:00pm at the DC Campus.

**As a reminder, the first sets of pre-skills are
due at the beginning of Term B but you might want to get a head start
before classes begin. Pre-skills can be found
here.
