Orientation is quickly approaching and I look forward to meeting you in person!

RSVP for Sunday, August 16th Activities

The Smith Master Student Association (SMSA) will host an optional Campus Tour and Meet and Greet Reception on Sunday, August 16th. The campus tour will start at 2:00 pm and students will meet in front of the Stamp Student Union. The Meet and Greet Reception will take place from 3:30 to 5:00 pm and will take place in The Atrium (Room 1107) of the Stamp Student Union. Parking/Transportation

I suggest you view the Transportation webinar and other resources on the Transportation page before arriving to College Park. It will give you an overview of the University’s shuttle service, local public transportation options, including Metrorail, and details for students who plan to drive to campus. The Orientation Parking Information states that the deadline for purchasing a College Park parking permit that includes Orientation parking permission is Friday, July 31, 2015. If you do not apply for a parking permit by then, you may have to pay to park during Orientation.

Public Safety

The University of Maryland Police Department offers important services to students that you can familiarize yourself with on their web site, including a 24 hour escort service, and UMD Alerts.

Please review the Pre-Program Checklist and the Incoming Student Website for upcoming deadlines, important dates, and action items to be completed prior to your arrival.
