Smith School Commencement Ceremony
- Wednesday, December 19th
- Graduates, please arrive at 11:00 am
- Ceremony begins at 12:00 pm

Campus-Wide Ceremony
- Tuesday, December 18 at 6:00 pm
- During this ceremony, students will not have their name read or walk across the stage

After the Smith School commencement, graduates and their guests are invited to attend a reception in Van Munching Hall. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend.
Cap & Gown Information
To purchase your cap and gown, students may visit the UMD Bookstore in College Park or order online at umcpmain.shopoakhalli.com/purchasewizard/Welcome
- MBA students should purchase regalia in the "drab" color scheme
- Specialty Masters students should purchase regalia in the "gold” color scheme
Commencement Student Speaker Search: Nomination Deadline is October 26th Auditions for the Smith School Commencement student speaker will be held on Friday, November 2nd in College Park. Email Ashley Pickett (apickett@rhsmith.umd.edu) to secure an audition spot. Students should have a 3-4 minute speech prepared for the audition. Please see attached for more details. Diplomas Diplomas are mailed 4-6 weeks after the close of the semester. All financial obligations must be met to the University including (parking tickets, overdue books, tuition, etc) in order to receive a diploma. Any questions regarding the status of diplomas should be directed to the Diploma Office at 301-314-8270.
